Pentroof Z32

I've always found it one of the little mysteries in life that the twin turbo 300zx. or Z32, never became more popular than it did. While it was expensive and of course the overseas crowd had tastier offerings, it is still such a solid RWD platform. Pentroof, an impressive name across the ocean but highly obscure stateside, is one of few tuners to do anything with the chassis and has created this gorgeous model for use on the Wangan. Currently the company is building a handsome white R32 to compete at Tsukuba [in the 55-second range] but their work and detail is of course, intense. Providing motor, suspension, aero, and brake tuning necessary for top speed runs, this car comes in as what can only be defined as "well sorted." The exhaust is a one-off piece, hand made of the expected titanium, while aero is a conglomeration of parts from the JUN hood, AB-Flug rear bumper, and custom carbon diffuser, wing, and front bumper. Rolling on Volk CE28Ns, the car is demotivated by a Brembo GT kit, 6 pots front, 4 rear. Also of interest is that the suspension features custom valving and is build by Arogosta for Pentroof. While Arogosta uses aluminum to save weight, their products are exceptionally well prepared out of the box [read: basic kits starting at +$4k, with spring rates in the 10k-14k range, ie no cup holders possible.] The interior is business casual; a mixture of HKS buckets before a tidy and well tucked custom roll cage, trust gauges of every flavor, and a trick GTC flip up hub release for the steering wheel. Sadly I can't come up with any engine information, though I seem to remember something in the 650 hp range with a fairly well touched effort. I have so much respect for the willingness of the Japanese people to build such complete projects. I love that they leave no stone unturned in crafting such beautiful and balanced projects, rather than spend a fortune on the motor and leave everything else stock.
